Artist Gallery
My personal challenge with my photography is to create the most striking image that excites me on a personal level! I hope the viewer will have their own reactions and find a meaningful perspective to take away. I specialize in places of travel, coastal seascapes, landscapes, and the natural world. I prefer vibrant color, bold graphics. I use the best light to direct the viewer’s interest to the subject. My photography can represent the subject realistically, directing the attention to the composition in a straightforward way. I also like to create imaginative interpretations in the editing process I can achieve the artistic intended outcome using a variety of in-camera shooting techniques, or after, on the computer in the edit process. I show my art at the Ocean Blue ART VAULT gallery in Half Moon Bay. I’m also member of Coastal Art League Gallery (HMB), participating in exhibits and themed art shows annually. It’s my third year doing two Silicon Valley Open Studios per season. I am an active Peninsula Camera Club member and enjoy competing in judged competition. I also present a photo education speaker program six times a year. I’ve been a serious photographer since the 1970’s, once having a darkroom. I continues to challenge my creative side to explore and learn something new always. Barbara Masek Photography has also been a commercial photography service business since 2010. I work with business owners and clients in head & portrait, event, promotion, and website gallery assignments. The natural surroundings, and local coastal community enrich my appreciation and joy getting out there with my camera. I also have the joy to enjoy all seasons in Big Trees, Calaveras County, Western Sierra's. The beauty of the redwoods, the Stanislaus River, the mountains, the warm spirited neighbors and community draw me in to provide lots of photography inspiration.
