Barbara Hall paints in acrylic and watercolor, with occasional oil painting. She expresses a variety of subject matter, but especially nature and its bounty, as well as people and places.

She grew up and was educated in northern California. She moved from coastal Marin County to the Sierra foothills over 30 years ago, and enjoys the beauty of both mountains and oceanside now. Years back she sold her watercolors at the Glory Hole Gallery in Columbia, California, and now participates in the summer shows of Arts of Bear Valley. She has also had two exhibits at the Bolinas Gallery in Bolinas, California.

Watercolor was Barbara’s first love in painting, but she has branched out into acrylics and sometimes oils, completing a large exhibit of women-based symbolist paintings for her Bolinas show. She is always inspired by nature and its spiritual beauty, but also by travel and buildings, having been influenced by her father’s architectural building design business as a young person.

Barbara is an active member of the Arts of Bear Valley, and also the Mother Lode Art Association, as well as the Calaveras Arts Council. She paints in both her personal studio and wherever she travels, en plain air or wherever she can.
